If there is a substitute for Brazilain Rosewood, It is this Master Grade Madagascar Rosewood.  It is stiff like brazilian.  Its spiderwebbed like brazilian.  It rings like brazilian.  In all ways, this is similar to the best brazilian rosewood, except its legal to send over borders.  This set came out of a collection that dated to the early 2000's from Maderas Barber stock.  I haven't seen wood like this since.
